Now we are working to ensure that our franchise boutiques appear in different cities and continents. I appreciate the work and creativity of my colleagues, I believe that the most outstanding creations usually occur at the zenith of fame. None of us has yet reached the triumphant finale and I wish that the path of each was longer.

I can't imagine my outfit without expressive shoes!
What do you think about developmentfashion-industry in Kazakhstan?
The domestic fashion industry is still in development, but I have always seen a great future behind it, I believed in it, otherwise I would never have been involved in fashion.

The plans are to dress Hollywood stars, I don’t name a specific star.
Are there more young or mature women among your clients? Who are your clothes for?
Our products are designed for different ages and economic levels of people. The clients of my collections are people of various segments. For young girls, we have specially created the Aruai brand, women who love good and high-quality clothes can find it in the lines of the Kuralai brand.

- When did you realize that you wanted to become a fashion designer?
- I remember from childhood that I was always fond of different types of creativity: I sang, drew, played in a drama club. In general, I was in a creative mood. In adolescence, interests became clearer: a TV presenter of news, individual programs, assistant directors of major shows in Kazakhstan ...
Over time, the current threw me towards fashion. Although my dream was to open a strong company for the creation of cartoons, toys, souvenirs and more. But all post-Soviet television companies collapsed, and I would have nothing to do.
- In what year did you release your first collection? What was she like?
- Officially, the first independent show took place in 1994. Previously, I have already worked on television as a stylist since 1990 - at a time when there was not even such a thing. Now everyone knows what kind of profession it is and what a stylist does.
But I had to “cut through the door” - and since then it has become my custom that, it turns out, you can introduce something new into the free market and become a pioneer in many ways. And later I began to call myself a pioneer in Kazakhstani business.
My first collection was very maximalist. I tried to include everything that is possible in it: ideas, a variety of shapes and materials ...
- Where did you learn the art?
- At the art-graphic faculty. In general, either the talent is there or it is not. After all, everyone can learn now, but only a few create true masterpieces. It must be innate.
- What personal qualities are necessary for a fashion designer?
- Of course, the designer needs an understanding of what he does and a great sense of style. It is also very important to have such a quality as purposefulness.
I had to have my own “story” in my life - and I began to create it. At that moment, I just made a high-profile collection - and went on stage with our famous last name at a major event.
People did not know at that moment how to perceive me: to applaud or not to applaud, is it true that this is my collection or not ... As a result - distrust, rejection of the fact that these are my sketches and my merits. And so - 7 long years.
I took the most drastic action to create a name that will stir up the public. At the same time, the most difficult thing was to get out of the father's shadow. Now there is just my name and merits that are earned by my own efforts!

- Tell us about your team, about the people who work with you.
- I have a large staff, each person is irreplaceable and unique in their own way. This is a whole world in the world - Kuralai Fashion House. We also have a PR service and a representative in Moscow.
- How is your working day?
- The day is scheduled to the minute. Unfortunately, I can very rarely be at home with the children and devote enough time to each of them.
Two hours a day is the time I set aside exclusively for myself: in the morning it takes an hour to get ready for work and for a short interview, and I spend another hour in the evening after work, when I can relax, change into comfortable, comfortable clothes and take time for myself.
After all, I have to always be in shape, because at any moment I can get into the lens. Meetings with new and regular partners oblige to be in high heels and in full dress. I learned how to quickly gather and apply make-up in any circumstances. I adapt quickly!
- What is the secret of success in this complex business?

- What makes up the concept of "Life" is a favorite job, a full and healthy family, demand in society, one's own authority, good earnings. All this, thank God, I have achieved for many years.
Plus, you need to be a purposeful person and clearly follow your star to your peak of fame - only then you will not notice competitors and negative reviews. And, of course, you need to do your job with a plus, so that not a single most insidious critic can find fault with anything in your work.
- Are there any fashion rules that you follow?
- At the moment, my brand has a lot of clothing lines that can please any buyer.
I can list some of them: line "50+" or line 2 for any buyer - stylish and affordable things, the line "De Luxe" is different in that it uses only high-quality fabrics with fine and expensive processing.
Soon there will be a launch of a new product - tights-stockings "Kuralai", which, again, taking into account the tastes of each consumer, are developed in various categories and price ranges.
The other day, the whole of Kazakhstan was discussing the litigation of the famous fashion designer Kuralai Nurkadilova with the bank, which put up for sale the house where she lives with her family for 10 years. And while ordinary citizens, supporting Kuralai, said: “What a horror! What will happen now?”, the founder of the Fashion House KURALAI herself boldly answered: “Well, let them take it!” Moreover, on the evening of the day when this news spread around the country, the couturier and businesswoman posted happy photos on Facebook, in which she, along with her beloved, walks at the wedding of friends.
Well, first of all, my house hasn't been taken away from me yet. And secondly, I myself even earlier offered them to take this house. I'll explain why. For five or six years, I regularly paid everything according to the contract originally concluded with the bank. Then, in order to reduce the principal amount of the debt and reduce the monthly payment, I, in agreement with the manager, contributed a large amount of money to them. Then there they had some perturbations in the bank, moving, my manager was not determined for half a year, they asked me to wait. I tried to find out what schedule I should pay next, and then it turned out that my large amounts in the printout were lost. I paid more than 13 million tenge, the checks were saved, thank God. And so I take a printout of payments with all the seals of the bank and with the signatures of the leaders and find that in the tenth year, when I made large sums, there are zeros. Moreover, they counted me just an incredible amount of debt. This is where our argument began, in which the truth was on my side. I didn’t just win their case in the Supreme Court for a reason - they couldn’t answer where my large payments went. And in general, they could not intelligibly answer any question. Documents on an independent examination were lost during the trial, one of our seven contracts was also lost.
- If you won the Supreme Court, why did a new conflict arise?
- They should have reviewed my amount. And I agreed with her in the second round of the dispute, already in the district court. This was the real balance - 106 million. It turned out to be the same as the house's current valuation - its starting price is 109 million. And I said, “Take the house. Please. And I'm free as a bird in flight!"
- Isn't it a pity to give away the house, or do you no longer want to live in it?
- Of course, we are currently negotiating this issue. I refuse to pay more. If the bank provides me with good buyback conditions, then I will buy it out. By the way, the hype that my house was being taken away was to my advantage. Because I have my own interests in this conflict, I have many more rabbits in the hat, which I will not talk about yet. And the bank so categorically will not put anything up for auction - they also have their own interest. And, by the way, that the house was put up for auction, I learned from the press, like any other person, although I should have been notified of this personally ... But in general - well, a house and a house! One house, second house - it doesn't matter to me. Any person who has a head and is not afraid of work will earn himself a new house. This is a situation that is not worth a damn.
- Well, thank God that everything is fine. And the people were afraid of you!
- I am very pleased that people worried about me and supported me so much. This is an indicator that I have always remained a person, worked honestly and developed a good attitude towards myself. After this story, no one wrote to me. In social networks, completely outsiders, ordinary people supported! And I also raised a very important topic in society - I created a precedent when a creditor beats a bank in the Supreme Court. Of course, if a person took money, he must pay - it is impossible to refuse obligations, but if the bank winds up something superfluous somewhere, then this must be disputed! By the way, after that incident, I was approached by people who also have various disputes with banks, and I, together with my lawyer, helped them. And now I’m joking about my house: since such a hype has risen around it and since it has become so popular, then maybe its price will jump now and someone will buy Kuralai Nurkadilova’s house for 209 million, and not for 109! (Laughs.)
- In addition to helping people in disputes with banks, you are now also helping them as a psychologist and even as a psychotherapist. Two months ago, the day after the “terrible” Monday for Almaty, you turned to the people of Kazakhstan through social networks and gave advice and recommendations on how to behave to people who were subjected to a terrorist attack. When did you discover another side of yourself?
- I started studying psychology from the time when I was not yet twenty years old. And I did it in parallel with fashion. And it is no coincidence, I had certain life situations that made me turn to books on psychology. I needed to advance in life and business. I had to understand people, because people who needed more from me than just human communication were drawn to me as a person with a certain surname.
- Well, you did it for yourself. And now you are conducting large psychological trainings on success, on personal happiness, taking people for consultations. When did psychology become your profession?
- I learned from both Russians and Americans. I have three diplomas - from the International Academy for the Study of Lies, from the NLP Institute and from the Spanish Institute of Navarra for Family Relations and Personal Happiness. As a specialist, I can identify the problem, diagnose and prescribe treatment. I learned from words, from details, from behavior to read a person. Now I even work with cancer patients, with suicidal cases.
- There is an opinion that you switched to psychology because your “fashion” business stalled ...
- Vice versa. I don't have a crisis. Now I have large orders, we have increased the number of produced collections, and a new wave of popularity has begun. I am constantly complicating my designs. It is already difficult for many in our country to keep up with me in design today. I see that designers of such a level as I are still few in Kazakhstan today. Yes, I have had ups and downs. There were moments when someone expected that Kuralai would no longer be the same Kuralai. But I won't be me if that happens at all. I even love the state when people expect that everything will be bad for me, because at this moment I am preparing for my “panther jump”. So, probably, it happened in the current situation with my house.
- By the way, how did your children perceive this situation? Are they also ready to part just as easily, say, with their favorite rooms, with a cozy garden? ..
They are looking at their mother. To my emotional state. Son Nurzaman is already 23 years old. He studied in China, he knows Chinese and English perfectly, but he is still looking for himself in the profession, in fact he is a businessman. The middle daughter Aru is 17 years old, she has excellent mathematical and writing skills, she will be a financier in our family business. The youngest Aiym is 12 years old, and she immediately said that she would continue the family business in terms of creativity. She creates collections with me and burns with it. The children are already big and see that I am doing everything right. I have everything under control, without panic, thoughtfully and step by step done. I'm not afraid, because I started from scratch and achieved everything myself. I have a favorite job, experience, real friends who always support me. And now I still have serious support from a loved one. Well, isn't that happiness? What else does a person need? You know, I had such ups and downs in my life! A lot of people don't know what I went through!
- Through what?
- For a long time I was without an apartment, without a house. My children and I moved from one rented apartment to another, they were completely different apartments: it was the first floor after the cats, it was terrible bathrooms, non-native beds, unglazed balconies of the upper floors, when a small child could fall.
- Was it before you became a famous designer?
- No, I was already very famous. And it was inconvenient for me to go and rent such apartments myself, my assistants did it. Only later, when the owners came for rent, they were surprised that Kuralai Nurkadilova lived here. Sometimes it happened that the apartment was urgently sold, and I simply put all the utensils in a blanket, tied it in a knot, threw it into the car and left for another apartment. I only had my own housing with my third child. I took out my first mortgage only when my youngest daughter was born. She was born prematurely, heavy, conditions were needed. Then I closed that mortgage and took the house.
- Someone, perhaps, will not believe that you experienced such a thing ...
- Yes, it was like from the realm of fantasy. For some it will be a shock. But someday I will tell you about it ... I had a very difficult period in my life. Everything was there! This is poor health, and the birth of children, and the formation of a business, and my desire to prove that I am in my place. This difficult period lasted a very long time - more than fifteen years. But for ten years now, I have been living in a completely different way. I am calm and happy. Moreover, now I'm not alone!
