Crafts from rhinestones for children. Diy rhinestone paintings

Do you want to feel like an artist and a bit of a jeweler at the same time? Then master the original handicraft - paintings from rhinestones. This activity is really fun. Let's get to know him better.

Types of rhinestones

Getting started with creativity, you need to decide on the main material. Rhinestones are different: sewn on, glue. Your choice should also be based on what the basis of the picture will be. Hot-melt rhinestones are suitable for making small details of the pattern. They are cheap and commercially available.

The preparatory stage of creating a picture

To find the most suitable starting material, imagine the background against which bright rhinestones will shine like stars. Of course, for a picture made of rhinestones, created with your own hands, the most advantageous color will be black. But options are possible. Light tone can be no less successful. A sheet of thick cardboard is suitable as a basis, but other material is often used, for example, wallpaper of the corresponding texture and color. In addition, you will need superglue, a frame and rhinestones of different sizes and colors. In order to get a beautiful and clear drawing, you need to sketch it on cardboard using a crayon or pencil.

Painting methods

Before making a picture of rhinestones, you can consider several of the most common ways to create pictures. In fact, everything is extremely simple. Rhinestones are laid out and glued along the lines drawn in advance. The main thing is that they are clearly visible on the base material. The finer shine will fall on the thinner lines. To highlight the details that required more shading in the sketch, they are carefully pasted over with larger rhinestones to create an adorable and very lively tiger, a funny puppy and much more. There is another option for making a picture of rhinestones with your own hands - you can use hot-melt glue material. In this case, the fabric will serve as a basis, and the stones can be fixed with a needle. Previously, the rhinestones must be laid out on the applied ones, secured with thin needles or pins. In the implementation of the idea, precision and accuracy are required. Finally, the drawing needs to be fixed. For this, a heat-resistant film is applied on top. It must be pressed firmly enough and held several times on top with a warm iron. After that, the film is carefully peeled off. The pasted rhinestones will thus be securely fixed.

There is another great option that craftswomen use. Acrylic pebbles, sparkles are laid out on a transparent glass surface, placing a prepared drawing under it. Glue is applied to the rhinestones, and they are carefully glued along the outline of the sketch using a wooden skewer. When everything is ready, the pattern is replaced with a fabric base (velvet will look great). The picture is framed and hung on the wall.

Mosaic drawings

The pictures are just great - mosaic with rhinestones, this activity is simple and exciting. The process resembles cross stitching. The ready-made set includes rhinestones, they are glued along predetermined contours using tweezers on a fabric base with a sticky layer. Your child will like needlework.

It is quite simple to create a picture lined with glitter. Real masters make paintings with Swarovski crystals, real works of art are obtained. For them, a background of black or dark blue... It will make the rhinestones look brighter and richer. Their sizes can be from 0.8 to 14.5 millimeters. This superb material will bring out the splendor of a star-filled night sky. When laying out the drawing, you can use larger colored stones. But it must be borne in mind that using at the same time hot-stick rhinestones and rhinestones intended for fixing with glue, you can upset the balance. The former will stand out compared to the latter with a rougher finish. At the same time, rhinestones intended for glue fixing adhere very firmly to a dense surface and are distinguished by high-quality grinding.

Sparkling masterpiece

At the end of the work, when a drawing of a picture of rhinestones has already been laid out, you can supplement it with your own hands using other expressive means and materials. For example, you can use glitters, varnishes. Then you need to let the painting dry. Then it can be framed and hung on the wall. It will be an excellent complement to the interior, decorate your home. It will not be a shame to present such work as a gift to a family member or to a loved one... The work performed with the help of rhinestones glued or sewn to the fabric will find wide application in everyday life. In addition to decorating at home, it is suitable for decorating clothes, bags. You can find many options where a pattern made of rhinestones will be appropriate.

Having considered how do-it-yourself paintings from rhinestones are created, it is worth focusing on several important points. For all the seeming lightness, laying out drawings from stones and sparkles requires accuracy, perseverance and artistic skills. However, the lack of imagination is not a problem, because it is quite possible to find a ready-made interesting drawing, print it and use it to create a picture. You can transfer your favorite sketch to the base through a carbon copy. The greatest difficulty can arise when creating thin lines. Therefore, getting down to work, do not rush. Of course, Swarovski crystals are an expensive material. Paintings created with their help are worth millions. But in everyday life it is quite possible to cope with the task by using their substitutes - crystal rhinestones. The result will not disappoint you.

Instructions for laying out a picture of rhinestones

Spread the base of the painting on a flat table.

Determine the beginning of work, it is best to start work from the edge of the picture, so that later you do not interfere with yourself.

On the basis of the picture, a diagram with symbols has already been applied, at the bottom of the diagram there is a key - in which the conventional icons and the corresponding number of rhinestones are displayed. Using the key, determine the color of the rhinestones you need and take the required bag with the number.

Pour some of the rhinestones from the bag into the tray, so it will be more convenient for you to pick up the rhinestones.

Carefully peel off a small piece of the protective film. Do not peel off the entire film at once, this will dry out the adhesive layer.

Apply a layer of glue to the tip of the pencil (to do this, take a pencil and press it several times into the glue plate).

Using a pencil, carefully take the rhinestone and glue it to the base, position the rhinestone so that it covers one square of the diagram. You can also use tweezers to grab the rhinestones.

During breaks in work, always cover the sticky layer of the circuit with a protective film, a break in work for more than 3 days can lead to the drying of the sticky layer.

When gluing stones to the base, it should be taken into account that at first the stones remain mobile, and the complete fixation of the stones occurs within 24 hours. Do not lift or turn the painting until it is fully secured.

Never fold the picture inward with rhinestones, this can lead to the rhinestones peeling off.

To prevent the rhinestones from falling out, you can use the included glue.

After finishing work, carefully apply glue to the joints of the rhinestones, this will give additional fixation of the rhinestones based on the picture.

A sticky rhinestone pencil. If the stickiness is lost, sharpening is required. Use a regular pencil sharpener.

Diamond painting with rhinestones "Roses". Full layout.

Diamond mosaic is the process of creating a three-dimensional picture of multi-colored rhinestones on a thick canvas. Acrylic rhinestones are laid out according to a given pattern on a pre-glued base. The drawing scheme is applied to the base and each color is marked with a specific symbol, letter or number.

The finished picture is three-dimensional due to the pyramidal shape of rhinestones with shiny edges. Shimmering in the light, the facets of the rhinestones give the picture a shine, while maintaining the diamond pattern, thanks to the rich colors rhinestones themselves.

Diamond embroidery (or mosaic, mosaic - as you like) is a rather fascinating process and not at all complicated. Of course, laying out a picture with rhinestones requires perseverance and care, but needlewomen usually have enough of this good.

Embroidery such paintings are called rhinestones rather because of the similarity of finished works with embroidered paintings, but in essence it is still a mosaic, because we do not sew on rhinestones, but lay them on an adhesive base in a certain order.

In principle, it will not be difficult to lay out such a picture, the main thing is patience to bring what has been started to the end!

Types of diamond mosaics.

Diamond mosaics can be of different types - with full and incomplete laying, using round or square rhinestones. A full layout is filling the entire surface of the canvas with a pattern with rhinestones, an incomplete layout - rhinestones are glued only on certain elements, the rest of the pattern has already been applied, it will be the basis of the picture.

Round rhinestones are transparent and shiny, which give a greater shining 3D effect, there are, like square ones, made of opaque acrylic, but they also shine perfectly in the light. Square rhinestones fill all the free space very well.

Whichever type of diamond painting you choose, in any case you will be satisfied with the result of the work!

So, we are getting ready to create a masterpiece in the form of a shining picture with our own hands!

What is included in a diamond mosaic kit?

The set for making paintings with rhinestones includes:

- adhesive base with a printed pattern;
- a set of rhinestones, laid out in bags with the indicated numbers;
- a special pencil for work (you can also use a soft white pencil);
- rhinestone tray;
- tweezers (not all manufacturers have it, but its semantic load is also small);
- a square with dry glue (useful for making rhinestones easier to grab with a pencil, also not in all sets and also not really needed).

The printed canvas is covered with a special glue base, to which our rhinestones will be attached. To prevent the glue layer from getting dusty during work, the canvas is also covered with a thin transparent film. We will push aside or cut this film as we go.

The drawing of the future picture is schematically indicated by numbers corresponding to each color of the rhinestones.

Layout of diamond mosaic.

You can lay out diamond embroidery in rows, or in fragments, as it is more convenient for anyone. Practice shows that it is better still in fragments, opening or cutting off the film over a small part of the picture, using each color of rhinestones in turn.

We will lay out the picture with rhinestones "Bouquet of roses" - incomplete calculation, round rhinestones. The drawing promises us just such a picture, let's see what we get as a result:

Picture with rhinestones "Bouquet of roses"

Getting started:

1. Pour rhinestones of one type into a tray, you don't need much, for one fragment it is enough to pour rhinestones in one layer on the bottom of the tray - it is more convenient to take them with a pencil with a metal tip. If necessary, you can first lower the tip of the pencil into the glue box, but this is not necessary.

2.) We take the rhinestones one at a time and glue them in free order, but to the places indicated by the numbers in the diagram. You need to press down hard, but preferably once, without moving the strass from its place, then it will be difficult to return it back. But, if it has already shifted, then with the help of tweezers we carefully return it to its proper place.

In order to prevent the rhinestones from peeling off the finished picture over time, after completing the work, they can be pressed tightly with a rolling pin.

3.) So we continue until we fill in a small fragment. We try not to touch the glue base with our hands, from this it gets dirty and becomes not so sticky.

4.) Pour the remaining rhinestones into their bag, do not worry that the rhinestones may not be enough. Usually they are given with a small margin, so it is better to discard uneven crystals immediately.

If rhinestones were not enough for you the desired color(which is extremely rare), you can find suitable rhinestones in handicraft stores. We pour the following type of rhinestones into the tray and continue our exciting activity!

The finished piece of work looks like this:

After three or four evenings of diligent calculation, I got this picture:

But in the photo, unfortunately, it is impossible to convey all the overflow of rhinestones, which can only be assessed with the naked eye!

Diamond mosaic decoration.

So that over time the picture does not lose its shine, it is better to arrange it under glass, although this slightly reduces the 3D effect.
Anti-reflective glass is ideal, but this will cost more.

The technique of laying out pictures with rhinestones has a very interesting feature- it allows you to relax and helps to fight fatigue and stress! And, of course, the result is a beautiful shining picture!

Today we have an unusual master class, which is devoted not to decoration, but to an interior item - this is a picture of rhinestones. Such paintings are gaining more and more popularity and I also wanted to make such paintings and show you what nuances I encountered and how they are created.

So, to make a picture of rhinestones with our own hands, we need:
- frame with glass measuring 21 X 30 centimeters
- stencil (base - printout of the picture)
- rhinestones
- liquid for degreasing
- second glue
- pencil for rhinestones
- several toothpicks
- stationery clips (or clothespins)
- black cardboard for the background (you can use any color you like)

The basis is a printout for this picture of rhinestones, I took from the Internet the first picture I came across, which is dedicated to Valentine's Day and on March 8th this is also suitable, I slightly enlarged the picture for the size of my rhinestones, they are 5 mm wide. First, we need to disassemble the frame, remove the glass from it, degrease the glass surface, it can be nail polish remover or alcohol. Then you need to place our stencil under the glass and fasten the glass and stencil with clamps (so that the picture is facing the glass).

Clothespins can also be used instead of clips. After fixing the stencil and glass, you can already glue the rhinestones.

We put a little glue on a piece of cardboard and so that it does not dry out, you need to work quickly - apply glue in small dots along a stencil so that the glue does not go beyond the contour of the rhinestones.

We apply the glue in very small portions so that when gluing the glue does not come out from under the rhinestones. The second glue dries quickly enough, so the rhinestones should already be prepared for gluing, we sprinkle them side by side for ease of use. In order to quickly take and stick them, of course, a pencil for working with rhinestones is indispensable.

With the help of it, we grab the rhinestone by the top and put it in the right place in the stencil.

To get started, start with small portions of 3-5 rhinestones so that you have time to glue the rhinestones before the glue dries. You can gradually increase with each approach the number of rhinestones glued per approach. The optimal number of rhinestones glued at a time to the picture is about 10 pieces. Thus, the production of a picture from rhinestones occurs quickly enough, in an hour it is quite possible to assemble one beautiful picture.

I will show again the process of making a picture of rhinestones a little closer: here I squeeze out the glue a little, quite a bit, I put it on a toothpick.

And with small dots I put it on the stencil.

Someone likes to glue rhinestones on velvet, but I still think that it is much more convenient, beautiful and practical on glass. With a rhinestone pencil, grab the rhinestone and place it on the glue point on the stencil.

I repeat, a pencil for rhinestones is indispensable: it speeds up the work at times, and of course it turns out more accurately because it turns out that the rhinestone can be put in the right place without any problems.

We repeat until all the points from the stencil are filled with rhinestones. You can make such a picture of rhinestones as a gift - it turns out very beautifully and very budget. I got no more than 300 rubles. The most expensive thing here is a frame, because there will be enough bottles of glue for several paintings (I think about ten), a pencil for rhinestones is also an inexpensive thing that will help you quickly make pictures from rhinestones with your own hands, well, the rhinestones themselves are inexpensive, while now in our store they have a big discount: 50 percent. Even a beginner can create such a picture of rhinestones.

This is the picture we got of rhinestones, now we need to let the glue dry completely and it is advisable to leave it alone until the next day.

Then you can gently wipe, completely remove fingerprints and other dirt and place in the frame. You need to clean it no longer with a degreasing liquid of some kind, but simply with water and a towel, or with a liquid for washing glass, but very carefully. We put this work in a frame, for the background you can use colored cardboard or velvet paper, so that this picture looks more effective and enjoy the result!

Agree, beauty! I think it will be a great gift for any occasion. You can pick up a picture for absolutely any celebration and make any picture out of rhinestones with your own hands literally in an hour!

I hope this master class was useful for you, if you have any questions, write in the comments. If you still don't understand, watch the video master class on making a picture of rhinestones with your own hands.

Varieties of diamond embroidery

What are the options for paintings with rhinestones?

  • There are sets of diamond embroidery in which it is assumed that the entire surface of the painting will be laid out with stones.
  • There are also sets where only some basic drawing is laid out in the image, and everything else remains without diamonds.

Important! It is not necessary to buy a ready-made diamond embroidery kit - you can just buy diamonds and stick them on the base of the picture in the form of some kind of pattern that you like.

Creation of a picture in the technique of diamond embroidery

Complete set of diamond embroidery kits:

  • The base of the image with the printed circuit.
  • Set of rhinestones.
  • Plastic pencil for sticking diamonds.
  • Plastic tray with cells.
  • Pencil glue plate.
  • Liquid glue.
  • Tweezers.
  • Cardboard tube.

The steps for creating a picture of rhinestones with your own hands are as follows:

  • Lay out the base of the painting on the table.
  • Determine the start of work.

Important! It is best to start working from the edge of the picture, so that later on it will disturb yourself less.

  • A diagram with symbols should already be applied to the basis of the diagram, and at the bottom of the diagram there should be a key to it, in which the conventional icons are displayed, as well as the corresponding number of pebbles. Using the key, determine the color you need and take the necessary bag with a number.
  • Pour a small amount of rhinestones into the tray - this way it will be much more convenient for you to take material for laying out.
  • Gently peel off a small piece of the protective film.

Important! Do not peel off the entire film at once - this can dry out the adhesive layer.

  • Apply a layer of glue to the tip of the pencil, for which take a pencil and press it a couple of times into the glue plate.
  • Using a pencil, carefully take the diamond and glue it to the base, positioning it so that it covers one square of the diagram.

Important! You can also use tweezers to grab the stones.

  • Fill the entire scheme with diamonds and leave to dry. After complete drying, arrange the finished work in a beautiful frame and hang on the wall.

In the process of making a picture of rhinestones with your own hands, you must remember some important nuances:

  • During breaks in the process of work, try to always cover the sticky layer of the base with a protective film, as breaks in work can lead to drying of the adhesive base.
  • In the process of gluing stones to the base, it is important to remember that at first the rhinestones remain mobile, and full fixation occurs only after a day. Therefore, do not lift or turn the finished work until it is fully fixed.
  • Never roll your finished work with stones inward, as this can cause the rhinestones to peel off.
  • In order to protect the work from falling diamonds, you can use the glue that comes with the kit.
  • After completing the work, carefully apply the glue to the joints of the stones - this will give additional fixation.
