Retinol peeling how to do at home. How to make retinol (yellow) peeling at home (instructions)

The action of retinol peeling is based on the application of retinoic acid to the skin and its further effect on skin cells.

The acid contains retinoids– artificial vitamin A substitutes that regulate processes occurring in the cells and intercellular spaces of the skin, stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.

How does retinol (yellow) peel work?

Collagen retains moisture in the layers of the skin and prevents it from aging. Elastin gives the skin elasticity. When a retinol peel is applied, the skin temporarily turns yellow, hence the name yellow peel.

Three types of peeling and their effects on the skin

The goal of any type of peeling is to rejuvenate the skin by removing dead cells from the epidermis. There are several ways to influence the skin, which are classified according to the depth of their effect on the epidermis.

Retinol peeling

Cosmetologists distinguish three types of peeling:

  1. Surface. Retinoic acid penetrates only into the granular and stratum corneum layers of the skin, without affecting the deeper layers. This type of peeling is gentle, since the effect of retinol occurs only in the surface layer of the skin.
  2. Median. This type affects the upper layer of the epidermis and reaches the capillary layer of the skin. This type of peeling has a rejuvenating effect because it penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin.
  3. Deep. Affects the reticular dermis. The effect of this type of peeling is not only on dead cells, but also on living ones. This type of peeling is carried out only in beauty salons; there is no need to try to do it yourself.

Try to drink more water, as renewed skin cells need a lot of water to form elastin and collagen

During this period, you need to drink more simple, clean water and increase its daily intake. Skin renewal will occur 10 days after the procedure. Repeated peeling can be repeated after 3 weeks. During this period, the skin will rest and fully recover.

Precautionary measures

What and how should you do to avoid allergic reactions and anaphylactic shock to retinol peeling when doing it at home?

A preliminary allergy test is carried out for this drug: a small amount of retinoic acid (10%) is applied to the inside of the elbow for 7-8 hours.

If this results in severe burning and itching, then peeling should be abandoned.

In this video, the blogger talks about his experience with retinol peeling:

This video demonstrates how to do a retinol peel at home:

A cosmetologist’s opinion on the topic of yellow peeling can be found here:

To rejuvenate the skin, it is best to do retinoic at home. This method has a number of significant advantages. Firstly, yellow peeling at home is quite simple and there is no need to seek help from a specialist. Unlike acid peeling, retinoic peeling does not have such a negative effect on the skin and at the same time has a fairly good effect.

Retinoic peeling at home - the effect of a facial procedure

Every woman dreams of eternal youth and wants to keep her skin in perfect condition for as long as possible. Many people resort to plastic surgery for this, but surgical intervention can cause serious harm to health and does not always bring the desired result.

How to make at home - yellow peeling recipes with retinol

You need to know how to do this peeling correctly at home. You can carry out the peeling procedure at home in several stages. First you need to carefully prepare for it. 2 weeks before the appointed day, you need to stop visiting the solarium, bathhouse and stop using exfoliating products. The skin must be gradually prepared and begin to use moisturizers containing glycolic acid, which will soften the stratum corneum of the skin on the face. It should be noted that peeling is a fairly lengthy procedure, so it is better to set aside weekends for it. You can learn about coral facial peeling.

Retinoids, which will be necessary for the procedure, can be purchased at almost any pharmacy without a prescription. They are contained in special creams, the names of which can be checked with the pharmacist.

After the preparation stage and purchase of the cream necessary for the procedure, you can begin applying peeling. First you need to cleanse your facial skin. To do this, you need to apply a solution containing , followed immediately by the peeling mass. You need to keep it on your face for about 45 minutes.

Next you need to prepare a special neutralizing mixture. For this you will need to mix soda and cool water (0.5:1). Without removing the retinoic mask, you must apply the prepared mixture and do not wash it off for about 7 hours. A slight burning sensation may be felt after applying this additional mixture. As soon as the allotted time has passed, you need to wash your face thoroughly with warm water and apply a high-quality moisturizer that will suit your skin type.

After peeling, you need to move on to the recovery stage. After the procedure, the skin will be velvety and silky, but after a few hours or a couple of days the dead layer will begin to actively peel off. In some cases, redness may appear on the facial skin. In this case, there is no need to worry; the skin will gradually recover in about a week. And which peeling is the most effective you can find out by.

To achieve maximum effect, you need to do retinoic peeling at least once every 3 weeks, in 3 sessions. It will be possible to repeat the peeling course only after 6 months.

The skin will peel off actively, which can last at least 7 days. You should not exfoliate it yourself during this period. It will be useful to use a moisturizer and a variety of softening masks.

But the retinoic peeling procedure does not end at this stage. Facial skin that has been exposed to retinoic acid requires careful care and hydration. It should be protected in every possible way from ultraviolet rays and an attempt should be made to restore the water balance as soon as possible using various masks and compresses. Before going out into the open air, be sure to use protective creams and other means.

Retinol treatment with vitamins

The procedure can also be carried out using ingredients that every woman can find in her refrigerator. In this case, it is absolutely not necessary to consult a cosmetologist, since such a procedure is not capable of causing severe harm to the skin of the face. This type of peeling is ideal for those with sensitive skin.

The procedure will require aloe vera leaves, cucumber, green tea, gelatin and chamomile. First you need to brew half a glass of green tea and the same amount of chamomile infusion, then add 1 tbsp. l. aloe and a packet of gelatin.

The cucumber must first be cleared of seeds, and then turned into pulp. The resulting gruel and decoctions must be filtered. Gelatin must be placed in a small saucepan and pour in 0.5 cups of broth. Place the container over low heat and heat until the gelatin has completely melted. The mixture should not be brought to a boil. Then you can add a mixture of cucumber and aloe and mix everything thoroughly. Next, you need to let the mixture cool for 20 minutes.

After the allotted time has passed, the resulting mixture must be applied in a thick layer to previously cleansed skin. The area around the eyes and lips should be avoided when applying. The mask should be left on the face for about 20 minutes.

Removing the peeling mask is quite simple. It should be washed off carefully with slightly warm plain water. In this case, it is not recommended to use a standard terry towel; it is better to remove the mask with a soft linen cloth.

A little conclusion

Peeling, both retinoic and retinol, is still a fairly serious procedure that must be approached with all responsibility so as not to develop unwanted problems with the skin of the face in the future. There are quite a lot of positive reviews about retinoic peeling at home. Those women who have tried this procedure on themselves confidently claim that it has a very beneficial effect on the skin, rejuvenates it, making it soft and velvety. In addition, peeling done at home is much cheaper than a similar procedure in a salon. We also recommend that you familiarize yourself with calcium chloride peeling.

Today we will learn how to make retinoic peeling at home. In principle, I already wrote about this in the topic, but here is more about it.

I read how people use Differin or on their skin, and found a couple of interesting points. More on the funny stuff later, but this moment really intrigued me. It turns out that an overdose of Differin may be regarded as a retinoic peel. The fact is that some people use it in mega doses. I'm telling you.

First, they wash themselves well, then they rub in the retinoid, and then apply a thick layer of it on top and leave it on the skin... Everyone’s reaction is different:

  • normal,
  • irritation,
  • peeling redness,
  • burning…

But everyone notices that after such peeling the face acquires an even texture...

Yesterday I applied a large dose of Clensite and received a retinoic peel. After about 2 - 3 hours I noticed it. Then I changed my mind about experimenting further and washed my face with Setaphile.

In the morning there was no redness, but the skin became prone to irritation - it reacted to shaving with redness and tingling. By evening I was almost back to normal. Of the positive effects of large doses, only peeling was noted, that is, it became smooth and clean, small ones should definitely be removed” - this is just one of the points.

Or here's another one.

I happened to apply Differin to my face a couple of times (when I cut the tube to smear the leftovers), the effect is really like peeling with retinoids. After a couple of days, the top layer peels off quickly and evenly, leaving smooth, even skin. comedones (if any) are removed very easily.

Retinoid toxicity

At first I didn’t pay attention to it, but then the reviews became more frequent. I don’t know myself, I haven’t tried it, as my skin breaks out even with a thin layer of differin. Still, this remedy is not mine. There was a heated discussion about the toxicity of retinoids to the skin, in particular adapolene and all retinoid derivatives. I wrote a letter to Maksik (doctor) regarding retinoids, with the following content:

Tell me, everyone knows that retinoids taken internally are very toxic. What can you say about the new generation of retinoids (adapalene) and even the old ones (retinoic ointment), if they are applied to the skin, how they affect the general condition and acne. That is, there is a toxic effect on the body?

They still penetrate inside, through the skin, that is, there is an accumulation in the body, otherwise, I think, it was not simply prohibited for pregnant women.

This is what he replied:

Not everything in this world is clear! BUT.
You are confusing the concepts of toxicity and teratogenicity.
Adapalene has very low absorption when applied topically and practically does not enter the systemic circulation. To date, no toxic or teratogenic effects have been identified when applied topically. But I personally would not use it during pregnancy :) and breastfeeding :) (it is also unknown whether it passes into breast milk). And in my opinion, you can somehow manage without it for a year, use something safe. Why take the risk? But from the point of view of toxicity, when applied topically, this is the safest retinoid.

As for retinoic ointment, its active ingredient is isotretinoin. And it is ABSOLUTELY teratogenic. Therefore, no matter how it penetrates the skin (and it is absorbed in negligible quantities), its use is prohibited during pregnancy. The toxicity of isotretinoin when taken orally is quite low and, if symptoms of hepatotoxicity develop, they are dose-dependent and completely reversible. There are no known cases of isotretinoin toxicity when used topically.

I even managed to find people willing to use Differin for wrinkles, under the eyes... - Horror... Don’t ever do that!

Pearls about Differin

“I understand that you have to sit on Klenzit.” And it’s like a drug - if it’s there, it’s good, if it’s not, everything’s bad again.

— You won’t get a “high” from Differin...

“I’m scared of the possibility of an exacerbation from adapalene; I wouldn’t want to look like a Christmas tree.”

If you decide to try retinoic peeling at home, be very careful, as the result is not always what we want.

What does it take to be happy? The question is complex and ambiguous. But one thing can be said – a happy person is a confident person. How can we gain confidence if sometimes we are afraid of our own reflection in the mirror? Wrinkles, haggard appearance, puffiness under the eyes, painful grayness. How to become younger? Cleanse and renew your skin regularly. Peeling procedures have long been firmly established in full-fledged anti-aging care. But peeling is different from peeling.

The well-respected acid peel, for all its profound effect on the skin, is still quite traumatic, since part of the epidermis is completely removed. What to do?

Who is the smartest person in the world?

Someone who knows how to look for an alternative. Maybe we should make our skin cells work more actively and speed up our metabolism? This requires a gentle chemical procedure that will not only thoroughly cleanse the keratinized epithelium, but also activate the work of fibroblasts and promote the efficiency of oxidation and reduction processes. Have you ever heard of retinoic peeling?

  • a full range of healing effects on the epidermis;
  • maximum regulation of blood circulation, increased immunity;
  • effective production of elastin and collagen;
  • maximum lifting effect, restoration of the relief and structure of the surface of the skin;
  • increased hydration in the skin structure;
  • healing assistance for various skin problems (acne, pigmentation, dryness, wrinkles, peeling, enlarged pores, blackheads, hyperkeratosis);
  • good prevention of the appearance of malignant formations on the epidermis;
  • powerful resistance to the effects of many viruses and bacteria.

This is just a small list of what the procedure is capable of. The retinoic peeling contains several healing organic acids: retinoic (the active form of vitamin A), ascorbic (vitamin C) and azelaic (oxidized oleic acid).

Velvet tenderness

This is exactly what one can call his action. This peeling is also called “sun peeling”. Due to the light tan shade that the skin acquires for several days after the manipulation. Thanks to its gentle, soft, completely painless effect, retinoic peeling at home is suitable for almost everyone who wants to look good.

Leading cosmetologists do not recommend chemical peelings (including retinoic peeling) for young girls under 20 years of age. Skin of this age does not require aggressive measures. The most optimal age for this procedure: 30-50 years.

This cleansing procedure is superficial-medium in depth of impact. It is especially useful for problematic, fading, aging skin, with dullness and wrinkles, pigmentation, and acne.

Attention! Exposure to retinoic peeling mass can aggravate the body’s condition in the presence of certain factors:

  • acute chronic diseases;
  • diseases of the liver, heart, respiratory organs;
  • allergies to aspirin;
  • rosacea and herpes;
  • skin injury (wounds, cuts, abrasions, burns);
  • existing flat warts, rosacea, spider veins and rosacea;

Also avoid this peel during pregnancy and breastfeeding if you are taking any retinoids or undergoing radiation therapy.

Carrying out retinoic peeling at home

Stage 1. Preparation

If you are a fan of solariums, saunas and steam rooms, forget about it two weeks before the procedure, and also put aside exfoliating products during this time. On your cosmetics shelf, the main place should be taken by caring creams with glycolic acid - we will use them constantly before the start of the process to soften the stratum corneum.

A retinoic peel is sometimes called a “long weekend treatment” because it takes up a fair amount of your time.

Topical retinoids for peeling can be purchased freely at pharmacies (they are available without a prescription). Some of the popular ones are: Differin cream, azelaic acid, tretinoin, benziol peroxide. So let's begin.

Stage 2. Application

Cleanse your face thoroughly. Then apply a solution of glycolic acid (it will soften the epidermis well and prepare it for the main procedure). After which we immediately apply the peeling mass, which we keep for up to 45 minutes, depending on the desired effect.

If you decide to use Differin cream, apply it in two layers. The first should be rubbed into the skin, the second should be applied to the face with a thicker layer.

Stage 3. Finish

Without removing the retinoic composition, apply a neutralizing mixture to it (mix baking soda and water in a ratio of 0.5 x 1). The mask does not wash off until 7-8 hours.

Attention! You may experience a burning sensation from the neutralizing composition. It's quite normal.

Then wash your face thoroughly and carefully with warm water and apply a protective, deeply moisturizing cream suitable for your skin type.

Stage 4. Recovery

Immediately after peeling, you will enjoy the softness and silkiness of your skin, but be prepared for the fact that after 12 hours to 2 days the epidermis will begin to actively get rid of the dead layer. Often, after exposure to retinoic acid, persistent hyperemia appears at the site of exposure (redness will subside within 2-4 days). The face will be completely restored after a week.

The maximum effect of the procedure will be if it is carried out in a course: once every three weeks. At home, retinoic peeling is designed for three sessions. A repeat course is carried out six months later.

The exfoliation process will be quite active. Be prepared that the peeling of the skin will last about a week. At this time, do not assist natural peeling manually in any way. You will benefit much more if you use moisturizers, enzyme masks and thermal water.

Stage 5. Care

The epidermis that has been subjected to the test of retinoic acid requires special care. Protect your skin from exposure to ultraviolet radiation, help it restore its water balance (creams, masks, compresses). Before going outside, use protective equipment with a high SPF filter (more than 30 units).

Sharing our experience

We not only give advice, but also receive numerous letters from our readers. One of them will interest you.

Tatyana, 38 years old. « I did this peeling once about six months ago, in January. It generally needs to be done in winter. My friend experimented with this over the summer and got strong pigmentation. Even though I spent it in the cold, I still used Kose Sunscreen sunscreen milk.

My cosmetologist recommended purchasing yellow peeling Mediderma or INNO-PEEL made in Spain. I was able to buy Mediderma at the pharmacy (by the way, I thought it was more expensive). When I held the mask, there was a feeling of a hot compress (a very pleasant feeling). In general, I’m writing how it went for me:

  • The first day. As soon as I took off the retinol, I felt tightness, and my complexion was yellowish-orange. I liked the shade – it was like being in a solarium. True, after two days he became the same.
  • Second day. Terrible peeling began - the skin came off in sheets, starting from the center of the face.
  • Day three. The peeling intensified even more.
  • Day four. Adding to my torment were red spots that itched. I took Zyrtec (an antihistamine for allergies).
  • Day five. Hooray! Finally, the peeling ends and the spots have disappeared. These days were the most difficult for me. Homeopathic ointment Traumeel S saved me from peeling.
  • Day six. I can't move away from the mirror. The skin is great! Clean, smooth – like a baby’s!

In general, my verdict. It's worth it! Retinoic peeling at home saved me a lot of money (in a salon the same procedure would cost two to three times more) and I got an amazing effect. The most gorgeous thing is that the skin felt velvety smooth to the touch, the pores narrowed and the wrinkles smoothed out a little! Now I'm planning to repeat the rejuvenation«.

After the procedure, there is usually a feeling of peeling, which is a clear indicator that the composition used is working.

Homemade peeling with retinoic ointment: homemade recipes

The people's treasury of knowledge contains several easy-to-use recipes. Peeling is carried out strictly in stages.

  • First, glycolic acid is applied to the skin. Then you should mix retinoic ointment with vitamin E in equal proportions and cover the skin with the resulting mixture for 20 minutes. Then a neutral agent is applied and the mask is left for another 5-7 hours, after which it should be washed off with warm water.
  • As a vitamin mass, you can use retinoic ointment mixed with aloe juice in equal parts. This product is applied to the skin for one hour, and then a neutral component is used.

Another option for the vitamin mass includes retinoic ointment, almond oil and burdock oil taken in equal proportions. This composition is also applied for one hour.

All of the listed mask options are great for home use and effectively smooth out wrinkles. It is important to consider that after their use, peeling of the skin is inevitable for one to three days. During this period, it is recommended to use good quality moisturizers.

Skin restoration after peeling

After using a delicate and safe peeling, it would be logical to expect the effect of soft and velvety skin, but this is not entirely true. After some time - from 12 hours to a day - the skin begins to actively peel off. In this way, dead, keratinized cells are removed. Redness of the skin may also appear, which disappears on the second to fourth day after the procedure.

Complete skin renewal occurs in 7 days, and the maximum effect manifests itself only on 21 days. This amount of time is required for complete renewal and restoration of skin cells. Typically, during this period, 3-4 peeling procedures with retinoic ointment are performed.

The process of exfoliation of the skin is very intense, so it is recommended to take maximum care in your skin care and daily life. Do not touch your face with your hands or use scrubbing or aggressive products. To cleanse the skin during this period, you need to use warm water rather than tonics. It is useful to apply neutral moisturizers with UV protection and use enzyme masks.

Since after using retinoic ointment the skin becomes more susceptible to ultraviolet radiation, it is best to carry out the procedure in autumn or spring. This will minimize the risk of sunburn and also choose a convenient schedule for repeated sessions.
