2 - First of all, sketch out the outlines of the bird's large beak.

1. How to start drawing a toucan bird

First of all, let's mark out a sheet of paper and, with light lines of a simple pencil (you can use a ruler), draw a markup (grid) of six squares. The length of the side of the square will depend on the size of the toucan pattern. With such a grid, it will be easier for you to draw the first, most important step. However, if you have a good eye, then you can do without marking. First, sketch out the toucan's beak and a circle for the head. After that, draw a larger circle for the torso and connect it to the head. The grid of squares will help you outline the line of the tail and paws.

2. The contour mesh can be removed

The contour grid helps to "maintain" the proportions correctly in the first step. If you drew the first step fairly accurately, you can remove the straight lines of the marking with an eraser so that they do not interfere further. draw toucan bird... 3. The shape of the toucan beak

At this stage, you need to draw the shape of the toucan's beak, the outline of the neck and indicate the direction of the tail. Also, draw the contour lines for the position of the legs.

Draw the eye first. It consists of two circles, with the inner one shifted upward. Draw another straight line of the tail and start drawing the toucan's legs.

5. Detailing the drawing. Bird feathers

Carefully remove excess contour lines from the drawing and start drawing the small details of the bird. Start with the beak and gradually work towards the tail of the bird. There is nothing difficult in this step, you just need to be careful and attentive. The last thing you need to draw in this step are the legs of the bird and the branch on which the toucan sits.

6. Draw a toucan bird with a pencil

At this step, the drawing of the bird is already completely finished. You just have to choose how you will paint it. I advise you to paint with colored pencils, but if you have experience you can use paints. Think shade toucan drawing a simple pencil is not worth it, because the black-and-white drawing strongly "loses" to the color image of the toucan.

Let's draw a sketch outline. Draw the head in the form of a circle, the body in the form of an oval.

Let's draw all the bodies and heads of the toucan.

Take the # 8 Flat Brush and paint the background light blue (white gouache + blue gouache). Paint the beak and near the eye with orange (lemon yellow + red scarlet).

Paint over a part of the head, torso, tail, and the tip of the beak with black. Paint over the eye with purple gouache. Make the highlight in the toucan's eye white. Shade the wings and tail with gray (white gouache + a little black).

With light brown (brown + yellow lemon) color, we will draw large and small tree branches. Draw the bird's legs in gray.
